The Smap Pro is a new, lightweight, general purpose spinning reel by Ryobi. With the Smap series, Ryobi aims to introduce Japanese technologies and quality standards, in an attempt to improve their performance, without raiding the price.
The new designed Smap Pro, has been based on an effort by Ryobi, to reduce the weight and increase strength. The body is of lightweight, but tough, composite material. The spool is shallow, hence designed for light techniques. In the middle of the spool there is textured ring, to prevent your braid from slipping.
The Ryobi Smap produces 6 & 8kg of Drag Force depending on size. The Drag Knob allows for quick micro-adjustments so you can respond to the fight with a tough predator, a useful characteristic if you are fishing with thin and sensitive braids.
The casting process is also very smooth. The function of the reel is also very smooth and supported by stainless steel ball bearings, resistant to corrosion. The Bail Arm is solid and will handle tough battles.
The handles of the Ryobi Smap are carbon reinforced for low weight, but extra strength. They all end in high quality, anti slip EVA material.
