Description
The Thirty Four Pinky is a line that is easy for people to see, but hard for the fish to see. When you target species such as the Horse Mackerel, at night, Pinky’s pink color stands out well, so you can see its movement when you get a bite. After casting your lure, you often get a bite when you are letting the line sink freely to the bottom, and if you count down at that time, you can quickly find the range where the horse mackerel is.
Being visible during the night, is not the only characteristic a line should fulfill. Some colors repel fish and 34 tested Pinky many times and in various situations and places. They adopted the Pink color because they found that it is easy to see and not disliked by fish.
Another important factor is the stretch and thickness of the line. Species like the Horse Mackerel bites in different ways depending on the bait, so the weight of the jig head must also be changed. At that time, a heavy jig head will sink with any line, so it doesn’t matter, but there are times when they will only bite if the jig head is light and weighs less than 1g. At that time, a thick line, PE, fluorocarbon, or other floating lines will make it difficult for the jig head to sink due to surface tension.
The thinner the line, the less line resistance there is and the easier it will sink, but on the other hand, the thinner the line, the more it stretches. If the line stretches, there will be a delay in setting the hook. This tendency is even more noticeable, with lines that have a high stretch rate. If the line stretches, even if you think you are giving it a small twitch, water pressure will be applied to the tip and you will not be able to link it to the jig head and move it. This causes a misalignment with the tip, i.e. the movement of your hand, which gives you a strange feeling and makes it difficult to catch a bite. It’s not a problem in shallow waters of about 2m, but the deeper you go, the more unclear it becomes.
This Thirty Four Pinky line is made of polyester, so it has almost no stretch and a specific gravity of 1.38, so it won’t float.
